lmfao, this happened? WOW. So from the start, Alaric and his basic ass was encouraging Damon, who he knows full and well isn’t the appropriate person to be around Elena (someone who he is supposed to be a parental figure to but fuck that because he’s just that fucking basic), to continue chasing her? Lemme get this straight—we’re supposed to see this as romantic or even as a wonderful prop to Damon and Elena’s story? However, let’s see here—has Alaric ever really been all that productive to Elena’s story? He’s been more supportive towards Damon Salvatore, who should be old enough to deal with this shit but LOL! nope!, than he’s ever been to Elena Gilbert.
Now I love how this is such a Big Wonderful Moment for Damon Salvatore because he’s ‘gotten the girl’ before. Let’s start with Katherine Pierce, who he followed like a puppy dog, ignoring the fact that his little brother—someone who instinctively you’re supposed to protect~(lol but guess who actually did most of the protecting in this series? I’ll give you a hint: it wasn’t Damon Salvatore)—was being abused and mind controlled, stripped of his individuality and free will by this woman. Oh! And then we have Elena Gilbert, WHO OWES DAMON SALVATORE NOTHING, is seemingly obligated to be with him because oh! Poor Damon! he has such a horrible past, he never gets anything~! But, in the first season, we got to see one of his ex girlfriends, Bree (remember her, everyone? Bet you don’t! Too busy paying attention to Damon’s pain), who gets her heart ripped out by said vampire. He gets the girl. All the time! Just not the one his brother is interested in. So all those other girls he’s been with? They mean nothing! Which makes you wonder what Elena is going to be to him now that he finally ‘has her’ (.:vomits:.)
And what’s the most disturbing thing about this is…
They don’t even say Elena’s name. She’s ‘the girl’. This is basically the definition of ‘objectifying’ in these contexts of script writing and storytelling. Within the character development, somewhere along the way, Damon Salvatore became the main focus and his sadness about not having exactly what he wanted became more important the desires, the ambition and the care about Elena Gilbert.
Viewers need to be extremely aware of that. Why is it so important that Damon Salvatore get ‘the girl’? Why can’t they even talk about her on terms like she’s a human being? Because Damon Salvatore and Alaric Salzman never viewed her as a human being. And that means, to me, that the writers of this show—primarily the unreal Julie Plec—does not either. At this point, I wouldn’t even say she’s being treated as a trophy, considering the fact that you treat a trophy with care. Elena Gilbert has enough scars to compare to that of a US Marine coming from combat. And many of those scars have been inflicted by those closest to her and yes, that includes the beloved Damon Salvatore.
This show is so basic.
Imagine how much better life would be for everyone in Mystic Falls if Elena hadn’t stopped Bonnie from deep frying Damon.
Bless the days Bonnie Bennett felt the need to take her anger out on the appropriate person and yet she still was seen as some delusional witch.

If her storyline is as powerful as a ghost then that should apply to all the characters, right? I dare her to do the same thing to Damon Salvatore, her obvious fav, and see how ‘powerful’ his storyline is gonna be when his main objective is to fuck the main brunette of the show.
Her bias is showing. Her racism is showing. Her grossness is showing. Man, just fuck her. We know this stupid ass ‘journey’ of Bonnie’s may come to an end soon anyway because this motherfucking ‘witch business’ is all Bonnie is good for now. She’s like a vending machine for the local white vampires.

Like I already said, this was never about Elena. It was never about them as a couple. It was about Damon, and him finally getting chosen over someone else, winning in a game in which he’s the only player.
It’s quite ironic since it’s supposed to be Elena’s choice but it has nothing to do with her at all. Maybe that’s why we never found any sense in it, because we’ve been trying to find it from Elena’s POV. When actually only Damon’s counts.
The funniest part about all this is that I don’t think Julie understands how horrifyingly, completely and fucking wrong she is.
The whole “wanted to be loved” thing is bullshit because there is someone who loved him and put his life on the line for his lame ass and that was his brother. Not only that—there are plenty of girls who had loved him and he treated them like shit.
There’s so much more I wanna say but what the fuck ever. This show has the terrifying examples of what not to fucking do and the treatment of survivors of all sorts of abuse is shown to be ‘petty’ things in a character. But if any of that happened to Poor Damon Salvatore, god fucking forbid it goes unnoticed because it won’t. His greatest pain is not getting to fuck his brother’s girlfriends in TWO LIFETIMES.
