30 Days of Shipping Challenge - Day Seven: The most heartbreaking scene.
♥Rukia Kuchiki & Ichigo Kurosaki: In all honestly, they have a lot of heartbreaking scenes. When the monster who killed his mother got away and he collapsed onto her and all she could say is, “I’m glad you’re still alive.” When he was being killed by her brother and she had to step in and pretend she didn’t care to save his life. When he flew in to see her standing on the bridge. When she decided to stay in her home and he let her go. When he knelt over her as she lay there, unconscious and bleeding because she had come to his rescue and he couldn’t save her. When she was forced to leave him when they both had planned to save their friend. When she nearly dies and he senses it, ready to turn down a fight in order to save her. And I know I’m forgetting about ten others. But this takes the cake only because this is their goodbye. They’re standing in the same place where she had given him her powers and now he has to lose them. She has changed his life and she’s been so important to him. They’ve never really said goodbye that way before. And you can see Rukia expects him to say something other than that because there’s always been that “Until next time.” But there isn’t. And he’s defeated. And all she can say is, ” Okay.” There’s much left unsaid between them, but in some ways, they don’t need to say anything because they’ve always understood. But he still says, “Thank you,” as she fades away.
